About Us

  Loafin Bakery Caf√© opened their doors on November 17, 2011 after several months of planning. Both owners, born and raised in Lower Burrell, wanted to bring back the old fashion feel of a community bakery. As much as possible, we use fresh and local ingredients in our products. We make everything in house from scratch and in small batches and love doing it!

 

 

Meet Our Team

 
Jackie Torkeo - Owner


Jackie is the cornerstone of Loafin Bakery and is our Head Baker. Her endless energies are focused on producing many of our product lines.¬  From Cheesecakes, to Brownies, Cookies, Bar Cookies, Muffins, Sweet Breads, Scones, Biscotti and many more, her hands are in every aspect of our production lines. Prior to opening her own bakery, she spent 17 years in the retail industry while managing a home based seasonal bakery.¬  Her desire for baking and producing great products has led her to fulfilling her dream of running and managing her own bakery and specialty retail business.
   
  Brenda L. Stelika - Partner

Brenda brings widespread experience to the management and baking team.  She is a self-taught chef and baker, focusing her product lines in the areas of Pastries, Pies, Artisan Breads and Prepared Foods.¬  Her passion for cooking and baking is her drive to deliver products with a gourmet taste.¬  Her motto is to bake products with Big & Bold flavors.

Brenda has an extensive business and Information Technology background and will be responsible for many of the back office activities and digital marketing components.  From time to time, she will assist in the baking responsibilities.
 
  Chef Amy Shealy is part of our Baking Team.  Amy completed her culinary degree from IUP.
 
  Sales Assistants - Our Sales Assistants, Nancy Jo Marsh, Lynn Moses and Michele Pacella complete the rest of our Loafin Team.
