We are excited to bring a Bakery back to our community The smells coming from the kitchen will bring back memories of the old fashioned bakeries we knew and loved. We bake from scratch daily with fresh and local ingredients. We invite you to loaf with us and have a bottomless cup of freshly brewed organic coffee. You may also enjoy our specially blended tea with your baked good, or like the kid in all of us – have a cookie with an ice cold glass of milk!
At Loafin Bakery Café, we are combining the old-fashioned feel of fresh home-baked treats with the modern feel of a Wi-Fi enabled coffeehouse. You’ll find your favorite cookies, muffins, sweet breads, pies, and cakes in our cases. We think you’ll be tempted to try our new creations, too!

Pancakes with Santa. We had a wonderful day with Santa. The children enjoyed spending time with Santa, eating pancakes and getting their faces painted. A great day for the kids and the adults! Oh and the Pancakes were g-r-e-a-t!!!!!

The time seems to be flying this year. It seems like yesterday we where celebrating Summer followed by Kids going back to school. Now, we are in November getting ready for the hustle and bustle of the Holidays. As we approach the Holiday Season, take time for yourself. Take time to think about and care for family and friends who may be going through a rough period in their lives. Take time for one another!
Treat yourself! We have 2 beautiful events happening this Friday evening. The Hole in the Wall Gallery kicks off their holiday season. Stop in and show your support. Supporting Local businesses is a must if you want our city of Lower Burrell to be the place to live and raise your family. Loafin Bakery is also hosting an event – “Holiday Ideas” featuring Wreath “Designs by Michele” along with Pie and Fudge Tastings. Free give aways and over 15% discounts being offered for Pie & Fudge Pre Orders. These orders must be pre-paid in order to receive maximum discount prices. Wishing all of our Loafin Customers and Friends a Happy Halloween. Our Cafe will be handing out treats for the little ones this evening. Please drive carefully as many people will be out walking.
November 2 & 3, 2013: New Kensington Winterfest event. Loafin Bakery will be a vendor during the winter festival. The event is held near the Library and will run both days (Saturday and Sunday). Saturday hours re 10am – 7pm; Sunday Noon to 5pm.
November 8, 2013: Holiday Ideas Event held at Loafin Bakery Cafe from 6pm – 9pm. Stop in and see the beautiful wreaths created by “Designs by Michele”. Speak directly to Michele. She can work with you on a custom wreath. We will also have pie and fudge tastings during this event.

These October days are amazingly beautiful to me. Although I love the feel of summer, Fall is my favorite time of the year. Pumpkins, Butternut Squash, Winter Zucchini, Apples, Apple Cider,turning of the leaves and the crisp Fall days are a few of my favorite things. My mother was also a fan of this time of the year and she always made her “Fallish Apple Dishes” for us. Her awesome personality, beautiful laughter and smile is truly missed. She always made “Fall” a fun time of the year.
We are looking forward to the IBIE conference next week in Vegas. A full agenda will keep Jackie and I busy. We look forward to sharing our findings back to you. While we are away, the bakery will be in full operation with limited hours Monday – Friday (9:00am-4:00pm) and Saturday (8:00am-Noon). In addition, we will finish our last week at the Farmer’s Market this Saturday (10/5).
We are serving 2 soups at the bakery this week (Roasted Butternut Squash) and Creamy Potato. Sit-in and eat or take it on the go. Unfortunately, all of our Pepperoni Rolls are gone …. more will be made during the week of October 22. These are best eaten warm but can be eaten cold as well. Our pepperoni rolls are loaded with Pepperoni and Provolone Cheese. If you haven’t tried one – please add it to your “Loafin Bucket List“.
We will be publishing our Holiday Cookie, Pies, Bread and Fudge order forms in the next few weeks. More information will be forthcoming.

Happy Friday! What a gorgeous day today! We opened our doors this morning at 6:00am ready for another great baking day. Kari is starting her day off by baking 2 cakes today; Jackie is baking all of her great products in preparation for tomorrow’s Lower Burrell Farmer’s Market. The farmer’s market will end October 12 so come out this week and check it out. We have many vendors on site prodiving great products. We alsways look forward to seeing our weekly regulars. The kettle will be on site tomorrow starting the morning off with the smell of fresh kettle corn along with our charcoal grill. We will be serving our Sweet and Hot Sausage sandwiches loaded with garden fresh peppers and onions, Kalbassi and Hotdogs served with or without Sauer Kraut. There is nothing better than a grilled hotdog at 10am! Hope to see you there!
